South Asian Indian Wedding Teaser in Asbury Park, New Jersey
We were blown away with the beauty of this wedding. For those who may not know, South Asian weddings are completely different from any other wedding you would experience. It is filled with colors, tradition, rich culture, multiple ceremonies, and more. Everything took place at Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel in Asbury Park, New Jersey. We started filming while Kirti and Kumar were getting ready in their rooms.
The first look followed soon after which allowed us to capture a beautiful and emotional moment for them. The next formality was the Baraat which is when the groom is danced from outside the hotel into the lobby and up to the ceremony room. Kumar was carries by horse while family and friends danced the amazing celebration. This led directly into the colorful ceremony filled with ancient rituals and the beautiful bride’s entrance as we watched her being carried on a Doli into the ceremony. South Asian ceremonies are generally longer than traditional american ceremonies. This one lasted almost 2 hours and was followed by a 2nd ceremony called the Vidai, where the bride is bid farewell. This is one of the most emotional moments of the day and usually causes people to cry.
Later on we had an awesome creative session with talented photographers BnB Photography. Photographer’s Amar and Mark were great to work with and were very helpful for us because they had so much experience with south asian weddings, I can’t thank them eneough. We were able to take advantage of magic hour where the sun is at the perfect spot for pictures and filming. The reception started soon after and began with a draw-dropping grand entrance of the bride and groom. The preview below was played right before the bride and groom entered into the room. I remember weeks earlier Kumar came up with this great idea of making a preview to show the guests featuring moments that happened hours before.
I can’t say enough great things about DJ Suj. He made sure to communicate with us and other vendors throughout the netire day. His team and professionalism was outstanding. The reception was filled with speeches, performances, and dancing for the remainder of the night. The whole day was orchestrated by Preeti from Preeti Exclusive Creations. She was responsible for making sure everyone was on the same page at every stage of the day. She was always there for me if I had a question or needed to contact the bride or groom. What an amazing job they did.

Wedding at Tribeca Three-Sixty in New York
Wedding at Tribeca Three-Sixty in Manhattan, New York.
Debby and Eric started out getting ready at the Andaz Hotel in New York. Right off the bat, Debby had me cracking up with her sense of humor and family dynamics in the bridal suite. Everyone was smiling and I believe they had already ran out of champagne by the time I got there. Life was good. Meanwhile the guys were getting ready on the other side of the hotel drinking booze and eating pizza delivery….you know the normal stuff guys do before a wedding. We decided to do the first look on the rooftop of the hotel in private. The moment was perfect and emotional. We had the pleasure of working alongside Punam Bean from Punam Beam Photography and we shuffled off to the venue site to start our creative session on the cobble stone streets of Tribeca.
My favorite part of the creative session was when we convinced the whole bridal party to squeeze into this little cafe style bar and a community toast to the bride and groom. After Debby, Eric, and their restless bridal party finished up we were off to Tribeca’s Three-Sixty, a brand new event space one floor below Tribeca Rooftop.
Soon after the ceremony began with guests watching the draw dropping and smiling bride walking down the aisle towards her soon-to-be hunk of a husband. One of the most emotional parts of the entire day came when Eric’s mom sang a beautiful song during the ceremony service which all the guests could not stop talking about.
The cocktail hour and reception followed and such an elegant party it was. The entrance was grand, the first dance was beautiful, and the toasts had everyone crying. You can watch how this wedding unfolded in Debby and Eric’s highlight reel below which is just a teaser of what will be in their 20-25 minute full feature film.

Wedding Highlight Reel at the Inn at New Hyde Park, New York.
Michele and Marc got married on August 6, 2011 at the beautiful St. Raymond’s Church in East Rockaway. Hours before, Michele was getting ready near by at her parents house. The girls were busy getting ready and looking beautiful while the guys were doing what they usually do…playing poker and waiting around. When our cinematographer RJ showed up at Marc’s Prep, he was working out for his big day.
St. Raymond’s Church was the backdrop for this breathtaking ceremony. Right after the little flower girls walked down the aisle with all smiles watching them, Michele became the center of attention as she appeared at the doorway. Emotions ran high as she walked down her aisle, soon-to-be-husband waiting on the other side with a happy grin. We had the pleasure of working along side Brett Matthews Photography where we went to a nearby pier to get some cool creative shots. Soon after we were off to the reception venue.
The reception took place at The Inn at New hyde Park where their guests enjoyed a 90 minute cocktail hour (and a half) and were greeted into their beautuflly decorated ballroom by 8pm. The band Current Affair played to a packed dance floor and even treated the guests to a dinner show with a wireless and mobile string quartet playing classical music with a rock feel. Check out Michele and Marc’s highlight reel we created for them below.
