Winter Wedding Wonderland | Wedding Trailer

Winter Wedding Story

When Ashley planned her winter wedding for mid December 2016, the one wish she made was for snow. Not the blizzard kind, but something that would coat the day like a winter wonderland…well someone was listening because she got her wish with the first snow of the year. The bride does admit she did have a little freakout the morning of, envisioning 12 inches of snow but her dad calmed her down to reality right away letting her know it would only be an inch.

Ashley and Zach met on Thanksgiving Eve and they had one of those instant connections. You know, the ones where you just know its something special. In the bride’s own words she explains, “I automatically felt like he was home…and I didn’t even know him.” From Zach’s perspective, one thing is obvious just watching this wedding trailer, his emotions and feelings for Ashley genuinely show as he loses it during the first look and ceremony vows.

Ashley and Zach planned their wedding to take place at The Village Club at Lake Success, New York. This is one of the most elegant venues on Long Island to get married at. In addition we got to work with one of our photographer friends Anthony Vazquez and his talented team once again. Also another treat was working with the bride and groom’s band the Dane Wright Band, whose band promo we recently produced only 2 months earlier for their agency Hank Lane.

First Day at Syracuse

Jaclyn and Asher had an interesting idea for their first look. Obviously, the groom not seeing the bride’s dress is nothing new, but Asher didn’t think that was fair. On a trip to Hong Kong Asher had a tuxedo custom made and decided Jaclyn wouldn’t be allowed to see it until he saw the dress. Seems fair.

On our pre-wedding phone call Jaclyn and Asher let us know that the ceremony was very important to them. One of the biggest parts of that were the personalized vows they were going to recite. When we know a couple is doing this we always ask to film them writing out the vows. The couple even had custom notebooks just for this purpose.

Brooklyn Style

“I Found You” by Aaron and Andrew | Music licensed by The Music Bed

Danielle and Tamer were friends for a long time before they got serious. Tamer was the first to try and take the relationship to the next level Danielle repeatedly said no. It’s a good thing Tamer didn’t give up and today Danielle agrees.

Their wedding ceremony was held at St. Finbar in Brooklyn and was officiated by Father Michael Gelfant. I’ve seen countless ceremonies filming weddings, but I’ve never seen one as entertaining as Danielle and Tamer’s. This guy had the whole church in stitches delivering joke after joke about marriage.

After the ceremony we all headed to the streets of Brooklyn for our creative session. The couple has deep roots in Brooklyn and it was important to them to capture the feeling of the borough as much as possible. We got to work with one of our favorite photographers Rick Restiano and his team for this wedding. We eventually ended at Rockleigh Country Club in New Jersey where Danielle and Tamer closed out their night with sparklers.

Wedding at Ryland Inn

Aimee and Jason got married at Ryland Inn in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey. This was the first time we filmed here and I must say, I can’t wait to come back. The staff was awesome and the feel was very welcoming.

Planning how we approach each film is very important to us and Cassandre from Cassandre Snyder Events was available every step of the way to ensure we could do the best job possible. Always a pleasure working with talented people.

A big thank you to fellow filmmaker Jonathan Armendariz from New York Filmworks for filming with me.

Fiddler’s Elbow

Alexandra and Ryan got married at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in New Jersey. The venue actually has special significance to the couple as Alexandra’s father was a member there while she was growing up. This made Ryan’s surprise gift to her, a bracelet inscribed with the coordinates of their wedding, even more meaningful.

I knew that Ryan loved football. So, we made sure that he and the guys went out and threw one around for a while. It’s always cool to have people doing things they love during preparations, because they pretty much forget you’re there. Ryan and the guys even downed a few Shiner Bock beers to help get the day going.

It was a good thing they went out when they did, because not much later it started pouring rain. I always get nervous when the weather is bad because it can take a lot of the fun out of the day, but Alexandra and Ryan were total troopers letting us film them in the rain during their creative session.

Another bump in the road was when they had to decide whether to move the ceremony indoors because of the weather, but things turned out perfect as the skies cleared right before and they were able to go ahead with their ceremony outside as planned.

The Planners’ Wedding

“The Planners’ Wedding” produced by Pennylane Productions | Directed by Adam Forgione | Cinematography by Adam Forgione, RJ Weyant, Bobby Shortle | Edited by RJ Weyant | “Right Here, Right Now” licensed by The Music Bed

Meet Jeanette the bride, she is actually a professional planner for a prestigious private club in New York City. It’s not everyday that a wedding filmmaker gets to film a planner’s wedding. Of course when she was busy not coordinating and being the bride, her good friend Preeti Vasudeva of Preeti Exclusive Creations was taking the reigns. Now meet Amal, the groom, who is a financial planner. He met Jeanette one day while planning her mother’s finances and the rest is history.

In the morning, Jeanette was concerned Amal might be pressured into drinking with the boys before the ceremony so she (like many other brides) warned him to behave, but how could he resist when a basket of assorted beers were delivered to his room. Jeanette’s twin sister kept in touch with the guys to make sure they stayed sober but couldn’t help playing a prank on her sister.

Their wedding took place at Village Club at Lake Success in New York. It was an interfaith ceremony combining Latin and Indian cultures. The bride and groom wrote their own vows for this sacred service and shared their feelings in front of their closest friends and family. It was clear that they were connected on so many levels both physically and spiritually. Jeanette tried to keep herself composed as she read her vows to her soulmate. I must say DJUSA and SM Event Group were awesome to work with regarding sound and lights. Total pros and very flexible so that we could all give the couple our best experience together. I highly recommend them for entertainment. Towards the end of the night, the couple entertained their guests by hiring professional Indian and Dominican dancers to perform and also changed outfits throughout the night.
