New York City…..January 18, 2014….Really, really cold! But who cares, It’s Sari and Matt’s wedding and we’re ready to do our thing.

Hanging out with Sari in the morning was awesome.  She was relaxed, cracking jokes with her bridesmaids, and always had a big smile on her face. She even gave Adam the “I’m watching you wise guy” look as he filmed the comical chatter between the girls. Overhearing dad talk about the surprise cufflinks for Matt, inspired us to immediately pull him aside and get more information.

Matt started the day at legendary Art of Shaving and then headed back to his room to get ready. Too bad as soon as the knife came out, we got the “no filming” look from the barber….. ehhh, no biggie, there’s plenty more for the day. Later, Matt admitted he loved scotch with the boys so Johnny Walker Blue came out to play as soon as he got back to the venue to finish getting dressed.  Matt even took some time out of his scotch club to check the doggie day care webcam to make sure his pup was doing all right.

When it’s really cold, we always think about where we will film the first look and how long the bride and groom will hold out during a creative session. Sari and Matt did not let down. They were troopers..smiling all the way (except Matt may have been a little worried about the oncoming traffic on 37th while we convinced them walk in the middle of the street). We haven’t lost a bride or groom yet, so that’s a good thing! We also got our fix of walls covered in graffiti, loading docks and neon Chinese food signs along with superstar photographer Susan Stripling, one of our favorites. The ceremony and the reception were both held in Gotham Hall.  This beautiful building, formerly the Greenwich Savings Bank, is an impressive venue with high ceilings that very few other wedding locations can match.  Thanks to this we were able to get some epic shots that captured the grand scale of Sari and Matt’s day.
