I remember getting a call from Whitney about a year before her wedding. Within the first few minutes I realized she was planning this wedding from 3000 miles away on the west coast of California. Now anyone that knows oheka knows that one of the coolest parts of the day is the ceremony setup right outside the back of the castle but I was especially intrigued after hearing Whitney was changing the rules and moving the ceremony a football field away on the other side of the garden, which we’ve never filmed before.
The morning in the bridal suite was business as usual as the girls were doing their thing. Russ, the groom, was no where to be found when we arrived. Now anyone that knows us, knows that we love drama. What I mean by that is we love when things don’t go as planned because it always makes things more interesting. That is the key to a good story. When weddings are predictable, they become boring and this wedding was not predictable at all. We eventually connected with the groomsmen who were quickly getting ready to usher their groom to his first glance of his bride.
A very comical moment their film was the dad’s cardboard cutout which the bride bought for him after a joke he made around fathers day (explained in video). I big shout out to good friend and award winning photographer Susan Stripling for introducing us to Whitney and Russ for consideration of filming their wedding.
