Amanda and Bobby got married at The Lighthouse | Chelsea Piers in New York City. They actually met under extraordinary circumstances. During Hurricane Sandy, Amanda was kicked out of her apartment because she lost power and Bobby was kind enough to invite her to stay at his apartment. Slowly after days, they got to know more and more about each other and their relationship grew.
When I was filming Amanda’s interview during the bride prep, I noticed the a stuffed animal on the bed and asked her about it. I was blown away when she told me it was one of Shari Lewis’ actual lamb chops. Shari Lewis was a famous puppeteer on TV from the 50’s through the 90’s.
I thought it was really cool they included their puppy in the day. Even though it was for a short period of time they had someone bring Milly to Tribeca during their creative pictures. They actually got Milly two months before the wedding and debated if they should get a puppy so soon before the wedding.
We make a point to chat with the bride and groom about a month before their wedding to learn the deeper side of their story. Sometimes we are alerted to surprises that may take place like when we learned that Amanda was going to surprise Bobby with a special choreographed dance with her girls. During the bride prep, I asked if they could rehearse the moves for me so I could get a behind-the-scenes perspective before it happened.
