Indian Wedding at Oheka Castle

Dhara and Aditya’s Wedding

One of the first things Dhara and Aditya told me was how important their culture was to them. They were in love with the little traditions that went along with an Indian Wedding.

They were particularly smitten with custom of the bridesmaids trying to steal the groom’s shoes and hold them ransom and the little pinch on the nose the mother of the bride gives the groom after the baraat.  They also loved the idea of modernizing, but not westernizing some of the Indian customs they had grown up loving.

Dhara and Aditya didn’t just decorate the venues they used for their beautiful two day wedding. They transformed them. They turned the pool at Woodbury Country Club into a bustling Indian food market and the ballroom into an explosion of color. They then turned their sights to Oheka Castle. They built a beautiful and towering mandap on the side lawn and installed a new dance floor, brought in new tables and chairs and installed wall to wall white carpeting in the ballroom.
